What’s up fam?! How’s everyone’s week going so far? Welcome to HITCHED: A Wedding Series here on the blog! This first post in HITCHED is all about what you can expect to see from this series! I am so excited to cover all the topics - and I MEAN ALL of ‘em when it comes to wedding planning. I don't plan on holding ANYTHING back.
This season of life has been so incredibly fun and rewarding and overwhelming all at once. I feel like I have experienced every emotion already and I’m only a few months into the wedding planning process. A few topics that I am looking forward to covering in this series are:
How We Started Planning
Creative Ways to Save on Your Wedding

And so much more!
I can’t wait to share the behind the scenes on all of these things right as I am experiencing them as a bride and as someone who works in the wedding industry! There are days that l look down and am still in awe that I get to even plan a wedding after being on the other side of them for the past few years as a wedding photographer!
My goal is that this series helps not just my future brides but all the brides out there who don’t even know where to start when it comes to planning their wedding. Because trust me, I’ve been there, too! HITCHED is also just going to be a fun way for me to look back and see what I did during this wild and exciting season of being engaged and transforming into a bride! Just for a little context, here's the rundown on my engagement + what wedding planning for me has looked like so far:
- My fiancé, Matt, and I got engaged after 2.5 years of dating! We met in college at the University of Georgia and he proposed right on North Campus! Truly one of the best days and I still get all emo thinking about it!
- We are planning for a wedding in a different city than where we currently live! We will be getting married in North Georgia and we live in Savannah - 4.5 hours away!
- I am planning the wedding pretty much on my own! We opted out of a wedding planner and are just having a day of coordinator! I know this isn't for everyone but I LOVE to have my personal touch on everything (hehe Type 1 Enneagram comin' thru!) and honestly love planning big events. More on this decision in a later post!
- We are having what most people would consider a long engagement - 14 months but somehow time still feels like it's ticking!
So that's a little bit about us and what you can expect from HITCHED! Matt will be popping in here and there to guest write, we might even do some video stuff? We will see but either way, I am super excited to FINALLY kick off HITCHED! If there is any topic that you want covered here on HITCHED, let me know over on Instagram!
