My favorite wedding trends of 2023

Wedding season is in full swing and the industry is already buzzing with exciting new trends that are set to take the celebrations to the next level. From fresh new color schemes to unique decor elements, weddings so far this year are all about adding a personal touch to the day. In this blog post, I’ll be sharing MY favorite wedding trends & what I think we will all be seeing more of in 2023!

Incorporating Bold Color or Completely Nixing It

Say goodbye to pastel shades and hello to bold and bright color schemes. In 2023, weddings will be all about making a statement with vibrant colors. From jewel tones to neon hues, couples are embracing bold color combos to create a vibrant and exciting atmosphere.

On the other hand, we are seeing the exact OPPOSITE side of the spectrum as well with Black and White Color schemes. Lots of brides will have their bridesmaids in black dresses or even all white. This looks is probably my favorite but y’all know how much this girl LOVE some color as well. You really can’t go wrong!

More Intimate Ceremonies

While the thought of an intimate ceremony isn’t something new, I have been seeing this tons more. A large number of my weddings so far this year have been on the smaller side and let me tell you, I am SO here for this. Something about a smaller wedding day where it’s only your best of the best leaves room for the most incredible celebration and genuine interactions.

The Reception Look

Gone are the days when brides stick to one outfit for their big day! I have been keeping an eye out at my own weddings and other’s that I’ve attended this year and have loved watching brides change into a different look mid-reception! Now, while this may seem like it needs to be another expense, I’ve seen brides change into a dress from their rehearsal or another bridal event. On the other side of the spectrum, I’ve also seen brides rock a brand new, statement outfit like a sparkly jumpsuit or fringe mini dress! A second outfit at your reception is always a fun idea cause it adds another element to your gallery and it’s usually a little more comfortable to dance in!

Interactive Entertainment

Couples are no longer satisfied with just having a DJ or live band at their wedding. In 2023, interactive vendors are definitely on the rise! From photo booths, to live painters/illustrators, couples are incorporating unique and interactive experiences for their guests. Expect to see live artists creating portraits as well as DIY cocktail and desert stations!

More Flash Photography

If you’ve followed me for a while you know how much I LOVE Flash Photography (and my couples love it too). In 2023, I think we will continue to see the growing trend of many couples requesting more flash photography during their big day! Something about that old-Hollywood glam is just too hard to resist!

In conclusion, weddings in 2023 are all about personalization, guest experience and making a statement. Couples are embracing bold colors (or the lack there of), flash photography, and interactive experiences to create a celebration that is unforgettable. So, if you’re getting married in 2023, don’t be afraid to get creative and make your wedding a reflection of your unique style and personality! And if you need some guidance, let me know! I swear I was a wedding planner in another life - actually still not counting this one out - so I would LOVE to help you piece together your wedding day!
