Envy-Worthy 2025 Wedding Trends
Having years as a Georgia wedding photographer under my belt, I've had a front-row seat to the evolution of weddings and how much “wedding trends” can change over the years. 2025 is shaping up to be a year of bold, innovative, and intentional wedding celebrations that go far beyond what we originally think of as a “traditional wedding day”. 2025 will be the year of so much beauty and change, which is why I want to give you the low-down on some of my personal favorite predicted 2025 wedding trends.
But before I jump into the trends, I do think it’s important to remind all of my wedding couples that at the end of the day, you can do whatever you want for your wedding day. While these are some of my favorite 2025 wedding trends, that doesn’t mean that you or anyone else has to jump on board. This is solely for wedding inspiration and to help future wedding couples get a better idea of some of the new and fun exciting elements that are now being incorporated into the wedding space!
Draping Fabrics as Decor
One trend I’ve been seeing plastered all over lately and predict it will take full effect in 2025 is embracing draping fabrics as decor. Draping fabrics can easily transform spaces into ethereal, romantic environments that feel both intimate and grand. Imagine walking into a reception where flowy fabrics fall from ceilings, creating all the drama while still feeling very whimsical and romantic… obsessed, right?! Using layered textures such as chiffon and silk along with a muted color palette will let your space be completely transformed without it feeling overwhelming to you or your wedding guests.
The magic of fabric draping lies in its ability to completely transform a space. Whether it's softening the edges of a modern wedding venue or adding elegance to a rustic space, these elements create a romantic and sophisticated atmosphere that I just can’t get over!
Serpentine Tablescapes
Say goodbye to traditional linear table arrangements. Serpentine tablescapes are taking over this year. Their organic, flowing designs that not only encourage conversation but create visual drama - aka incredible reception space images! These curved table arrangements break away from rigid geometric designs and instead create a more dynamic and interactive dining experience. A great way to enhance serpentine tablescapes is by incorporating table linens and centerpieces that complement the fluid design of a serpentine table. The mixed shapes paired with table settings that enhance the fluid nature of this table design make for a stunning and memorable dining experience for you and your guests.
Remember that the serpentine layout isn't just about aesthetics, though we obviously love aesthetics around here - but it's about creating a more connected wedding experience that gives a more intentional and thoughtful approach.
Full Wedding Party Grand Entrances
Long gone are the days of pairs of bridesmaids and groomsmen walking into the reception to do a silly little jig or chug a beer. 2025 is the year when the wedding party entrance is evolving from a traditional walk to a dynamic, exciting entrance that celebrates you and your people! Full wedding party grand entrances allow for self-expression and a performative element for your wedding that will set the tone for the rest of the night! By reimagining the entrance, couples create memorable moments that capture the joy and support surrounding their love and relationship.
PRO TIP: Don’t want to enter with your entire wedding party? Have all the bridesmaids and groomsmen enter together at once, and you and your lover can still have your own entrance into your wedding rception.
Wedding Weekend Experiences
As a wedding photographer, something I’ve personally seen my couples lean into is the full wedding wedding weekend. Rather than keeping the wedding celebration on a single day, couples are opting for a multi-day experience that allows for a personal connection with their guests. These wedding weekends allow couples to turn a traditional wedding into a multi-day celebration and overall enhanced wedding experience.
Weekend wedding experiences might look like this:
Welcome parties that introduce out-of-town guests to the local scene
Curated group activities like wine tastings or collaborative experiences
Farewell brunches that give the couple & guests a relaxed conclusion to the wedding celebration
While I see this trend becoming more and more popular in 2025, I see it sticking around for much much longer. When it comes to planning their dream wedding, couples nowadays desire a more meaningful, connected wedding experience.
Statement Seating Charts
Seating charts in 2025 are becoming more and more grand and go far beyond just telling your guests where they can find their seats. These statement pieces are becoming focal points of reception design, offering a first glimpse into the couple's personality and overall wedding aesthetic.
Ways to incorporate statement seating charts include:
Personalized letters with seating + notes to the guest
Themed seating assignments that tell a story about the couple's relationship
Interactive seating charts with a photo op or complimentary drink station
Statement seating charts transform a practical necessity into a memorable design moment that everyone will remember!
Elevated Dress Codes
In 2025, wedding attire is moving beyond traditional formal wear, embracing a more personalized, sophisticated dress code that allows guests to express individuality while maintaining an overall elevated aesthetic.
Ways to incorporate an elevated dress code are:
Themed dress codes beyond just the traditional black tie
Encouraging guests to experiment with personal style while still staying within your wedding color scheme
The goal with an elevated dress code is to create visual harmony that feels structured that will photograph absolutely beautifully.
Envy-worthy 2025 Wedding trends
As you can tell, there’s a common theme amongst all of these 2025 wedding trends: personalization and connection. These trends aren't just about aesthetics, they're about creating a wedding day (or weekend) that truly reflects your love story. As a wedding photographer, I'm so to see how couples will continue to push the boundaries beyond what’s “traditional”.
